On our 3 acres we have a 5 year old Food Forest, Market Garden Style growing areas, three big Polytunnels, a Jungle, Native Woodland, a second Food Forest in the making and many other projects up and coming…. We've finally realised we need help!
We are located between Portsmouth and Southampton – ideally you need your own transport as our location is slightly remote and not on any main public transport routes.
Access/Parking is also fairly limited and depending on conditions it may be a 5-10 min walk (though beautiful woodland) to get to us. This is NOT a residential opportunity and therefore we are looking for someone(s) fairly local.
The majority of work will be general land maintenance and gardening tasks – weeding, harvesting, planting, bed prep etc. There may also be opportunities to assist/learn (or teach us) about preserving/cooking, filming for our Youtube Channel and small building works, using mostly reclaimed materials, especially next year when we begin building our off grid, outdoor Kitchen.
We are looking some someone(s) who can commit to at least one day per month, up to once per week, ideally on a regular day so we can plan our schedule ahead. This can be either Monday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
In return for your time, we will share our knowledge with you, provide a simple lunch on the day (should you wish) and provide you with some seasonal produce to take home each visit. Volume and variety will vary throughout the season with the nature of growing. We have plenty of scope to grow more productively on our site here - The more food you help us grow, the more you'll get to take home too.
